Bobby Lee Houston

Bobby was born August 6, 1938 to Vanda Estelle Houston of Catawba County. He loved to hunt and fish with his sons and spend time with his family. He worked in furniture all his life and was a lifetime member of Open Door Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Bobby is preceded in death by his son, Robert Houston; and grandson, Joseph Griffith.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Muril Houston; sons, Timothy Ray Houston and wife, Beverly, of Icard, and Bobby Dean Houston and wife, Teresa, of Conover; daughter, Rebecca Flanders and husband, Fred, of Conover; grandchildren, Ashley Houston, Steven Houston, Laura Huffman, Courtney Houston, Andrea Houston, Sarah Hinojoza, and Michael Flanders; and great grandchildren, Asher Houston, Raylin Huffman, Heavenly Hinojoza, and Eva Hinojoza.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Open Door Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 3, 2014. Pastor Darrell Williams will officiate. Friends and family members will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.
