Born June 3, 1937 in Burke County, he was the son of the late Roy Earl Cook Sr. and Naomi Ella Cook.
Edward was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Military Police from 1960-1962. He was a member of Millers Lutheran Church in Hickory. Edward had worked as a meat cutter in the grocery industry.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Roy E. Cook Jr., Eugene Eller Cook, and Noel Martin Cook; sisters, Marietta Moretz and Carol Estes.
Edward is survived by his sisters, Azalee Sharpe of Morganton, NC and Henrietta Abernathy of Morganton, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
There are no funeral services planned at this time.
