

She was born October 19, 1919, in Catawba County, to the late Guy Henry and Bertie Anna Stewart Brown.
Georgie was a member of Catawba United Methodist Church, where she served on the Administrative Board. Georgie also served as Secretary of the local Woodman of the World for thirty years. She retired from Bassett Furniture. She enjoyed reading, working puzzles, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Drum; two brothers, Carlos Guy Brown and Henry Earl Brown; a sister, Edith Houston; and a daughter-in-law, Susan Drum.
Survivors include her sons, Charles M. Drum Jr. and wife, Rosie of Wilkesboro, and David Drum of Dallas; six grandchildren, Lisa Tugman, Kevin Drum, Michelle Sweet, Tina Knopp, Amanda Stewart, and Joshua Drum; eight great-grandsons; a brother, Robert Lee Brown of Claremont; special friends, Kat Huffman and Bill Childers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Drum Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rich Tuttle officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Drum Funeral Home prior to the service.
