Gilda Miller Miller Snyder

Born December 19, 1926 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Alvin “Pop” Miller and Blanche Setzer Miller. Gilda married Russell David Snyder on December 12, 1945 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Claremont by Rev. Gilbert Miller. She retired from Pierre Foods after more than a quarter of a century. Gilda was very active until her late seventies. She loved to travel, camping in the back of a pickup truck, and going to the beach. She enjoyed the family tradition of a Christmas trip to Gatlinburg. She loved shopping at Wal-Mart, but Gilda’s greatest joy was her “grand babies,” which she talked about all the time.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell David Snyder; her daughter, Cynthia Little; sister, Margaret Buchanan; brothers, Luther Miller, Bill Miller, Foy Miller, Ben Miller, Stephen Miller, and Lane Miller.

Survivors include her son, Roger Snyder and wife, Pat, of Conover; son-in-law, John Little of Granite Falls; grandchildren, Misty Throneburg, Wendy Benfield, Brandon Little, Kristen Blackwell; great-grandchildren, Lucas Throneburg, Layla Throneburg, Landon Throneburg, McKenzie Benfield, Brooklyn Benfield, Abigail Blackwell, Tate Blackwell, Aidan Little, and Anniston Little.

Gilda will be remembered by Rev. Perry Miller during the 10:00 a.m. Worship Service at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Claremont on Sunday November 18, 2012.

Her family will receive friends on Friday, November 16, 2012 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Drum Funeral Home in Conover, NC.
