Helen Louise Evans

Born July 9, 1935 in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late John Edison and Hattie Estell Ingle King. She was a member of Newton Church of God and enjoyed cooking, canning, and spending time with her family. She was previously employed in the hosiery industry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty “Tootie” Stacy.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Lawrence B. Evans of the home; a son, Kenny Evans and wife, Lynn of Newton; a daughter, Tina Evans of Newton; two brothers, Walter King of Oak Hill, FL and Carroll King of Rock Hill, SC; a sister, Vertie Sue K. Blackwell of Hickory; grandchildren, Kenny Evans, Patrick Evans, Thomas Evans, Jarred Langley, Nate Langley, Chris Setzer, Raymond Bivens, Danielle Combes and a great grandchild, Ava Lillian Evans.

A service of remembrance will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Eastern Sky Church of God in Newton. Pastor Warren Marcum will officiate and burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Fallston, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:45 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service.
