Ida Mae (James) Ervin

Ida “Mae” James Ervin, age 80, of Maiden, NC, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at her home. Born January 7, 1940 in Troy, Alabama to the late Crystal Columbus James and Virgie Mae Wiggins James.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Eddie James of Alabama; son, “Kenny” Ray Ervin, Jr. of West Virginia, and a great-grandson, Jaydon Ray Sandlin of NC.

Mae loved animals, especially cats! She loved her sons and all of her grandkids and great-grandkids. She enjoyed music and one of her favorites was “Hello Darling”. She loved to dance and cut up.

She leaves behind three siblings, Shirley James Smith and family of SC, Jerry James and family of AL, and Gloria Pittman and family of FL; two sons, Mark Ervin Sr. and family of TN, Daniel “Ryan” Ervin and family of NC; daughter in-law, Joanne Ervin of WV, grandchildren, Angie Brummitt and family of TN, Mark Ervin Jr. and family of TN, Alex Weathers and family of NC, Timothy Weathers of NC, Whitney Weathers of NC, Kenny “LK” Ervin II, Patrick Ervin, Chris Ervin of WV; great-grandchildren, Marcus Ervin, Kelly Rae Ervin, Brooklyn Ervin, and Waylon Ervin, all of TN, Trevor and Trey Brummitt of TN, Kylie Ervin, London Ervin of NC, Alia Monroe, Chandler Barton, Atticus Weather, Kennedi Weathers, Keelyn Cansler, all of NC

A gathering of friends will be held at 4:00 p.m on Thursday, April 30, 2020, in the chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Conover, NC.
