Born November 23, 1949 in Gaston County, NC, he was the son of the late James Henry Gibson Sr. and Virginia Dorsey Gibson. He was proud to have served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was a loving and devoted husband.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph Gibson and Arthur Gibson.
James is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judy Gordon Gibson; son, Joshua Bowman and wife, Shelley; sisters, Ann Coleman and husband, Jackie, Mary Bowman; grandchildren, Alexis Renee Bowman, Bentley Bowman; nephews, Jack Coleman and Jason Coleman.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2015 in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Conover with Rev. Joe McCann officiating.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 to 4:45 p.m. prior to the service.
