Born April 16, 1945 in Ashe County, NC, he was the son of the late William and Bessie Dollar. John grew up with brothers, Dale, Jim, Henry, Robert, Joe, Bill and sisters, Janet, Sally, and Ruth. He was a former iron worker and retired from General Electric Company. At the time of his death, he was employed by Market Basket.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, John Charles Dollar Jr. and wife, Leasa, of Claremont and Eric Christian Dollar and wife, Donna, of Taylorsville; grandchildren, Chase and wife, Kayla, Aron, Ashton, Chelsea and Billy; great-grandsons, Rylan, Liam and Parker.
The family will gather with friends on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at Drum Funeral Home in Conover.
