Larry Gray Teague

Larry Gray Teague, age 74, of Catawba, NC went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 27th, 2013. Born November 13, 1938, in Caldwell County, he was the son of the late Charles Teague and Lola Earnhardt Teague and the son-in-law of the late Clarence and Ruby Mackie. He was a longtime member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Newton, where he served as a former President and Treasurer of the congregation and member of the Property Board, and pitched in and helped in any way needed. Larry had a gift of making people feel welcome. He worked as production planner for Carolina Mills for 35 years. Larry was a charter member and first President of Balls Creek Optimist where he also served as a long time Treasurer. He and his wife, Nancy Jo, delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. Larry helped his son Derek on the farm after his retirement. Larry had a great interest in young people, was a great bridge player, and enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Frank E. Teague, and sister, Nancy T. Watson.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Nancy Jo Teague of the home; son, Derek Teague and wife, Paula, of Catawba; brother, Charles Boyd Teague and wife, Bobbie, of Fleetwood, NC and Cocoa, FL; grandchildren, Lauren May and husband, Kyle, of Stokes, NC, and Jennifer Yoder of the home.
