In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Ward; brothers, Earl, Cecil, Junior Ward; sister, Mary Poteat; brother in laws, Ed Cantor and John Drum.
Larry was a caring father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a loving father figure and he cherished his family. Larry enjoyed playing bingo with his girlfriend, Linda. He also enjoyed fishing and bowling.
Those left to cherish Larry’s memory are his son, Rodney Ward; daughter, Wendy (Michael) Aiken; sister, Barbara (Dennis) Huffman; brother in laws, Bobby (Vivian) Cantor, Jeff (Sandy) Cantor, David (Kim) Cantor, Randy (Vonda) Cantor, Bill (Debra) Cantor; sister in laws, Belinda Ward, Vanessa Drum, Patricia (Earl) Hedrick; grandchildren, Joshua Aiken, Allie Aiken, Dalton (Marilea) Ward, Koby Ward, Maddison Aiken, Tyler Aiken; great grandchildren, Sadie and Shelby Ward.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 from 6pm-9pm at Drum Funeral Home Chapel, 509 1st Ave South, Conover, NC 28613.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at Drum Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Whaley officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens-Mausoleum.
