Lee Davis Wike

Lee Davis Wike (Dave), 87, of Conover went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Sherrills Ford, NC. Born February 26, 1926 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Clifton and Lula Spencer Wike.

He was a loving husband and dedicated father and grandfather. He was a member of Viewmont Baptist Church and had worked for CB Drug Company, Keebler Company and Iwanna. He served during WWII in the US Navy aboard the USS Bremerton as an aircraft mechanic. Always giving to others, he loved people; most called him Paw Paw.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Shuford and Coyte Wike.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Juanita Rhoney Wike of the home; a daughter, Beverly Wike Lowman of Bethlehem; grandchildren, Rodney Lowman and wife, Jeannie of Catawba, and Angela Lowman and boyfriend, Alan Benfield of Lenoir, and a great granddaughter, Megan Lowman of Catawba.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Viewmont Baptist Church. Pastor Jay Robison will officiate and burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 – 2:45 pm at the church.
