Leslie Ann Dula Dula Hicks

Born March 5, 1976, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of Jeff D. Dula and Pam Ann Starnes Dula of Granite Falls, NC.

Leslie was a member of Oxford Baptist Church in Conover. She loved working with and showing quarter horses, and was a member of AQHA. Leslie also loved to scrapbook.

Leslie was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Albert Starnes; paternal grandfather, Durine Dula; sisters, Crystal Michelle Dula, Heather Deanna Dula; niece, Angel Nichelle Shull; and father-in-law, Robert Daniel Hicks.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Chris R. Hicks of Hickory; parents, Jeff D. Dula and Pam Starnes Dula of Granite Falls; maternal grandmother, Barbara Edwards of Bethlehem, paternal grandmother, Willa Dean Dula of Granite Falls; godchildren, Hunter Dancy, Avery Dancy, and Makenah Melvin; mother-in-law, Becky Edmondson Hicks and husband Tanner; brother-in-law, Michael R. Hicks and wife Danielle; nephew, Landry Hicks; and many treasured aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Oxford Baptist Church. It will be officiated by Reverend Joel Frye and Reverend Charles Murrell and burial will follow at New Vision Baptist Fellowship Church in Granite Falls, NC.

The family will receive friends Monday, January 13, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Drum Funeral Home in Conover.

Pallbearers will be Michael Hicks, Josh Dancy, Andrew Peeler, Tony Winkler, Ethan Winkler, Adam Overcash, Kirby Phillips, and Kerwin Dula.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorials be made to Rising Hope Farm, 3775 Bethany Church Road, Claremont, NC 28610.
