Linda Stirewalt Travis

Born May 27, 1942 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Ray Stirewalt and Margie Elizabeth Shook Stirewalt. She was a member of Fairbrook Baptist Church in Hickory and retired from the furniture industry where she was a seamstress.

Survivors include her husband, Franklin L. Travis, of the home; daughter, Dawn Dale and husband, Eddie, of Long View; sons, Dale Hudson and wife, Doris, of Connelly Springs, Dean Hudson and wife, Colette, of Hildebran; step-children, Diane Starnes and husband, Steve, Billy Travis and wife, Ann; grandson, Dustin Hudson; brothers, Joe Stirewalt and wife, Gloria, of Connelly Springs, Howard Stirewalt and wife, Priscilla, of Hildebran; aunts, Lucy Watson, Irene Queen, Hazel Keever, Ethel Andrews and husband, Andy, all of Valdese; nieces and nephews, Ann Franklin, Lynn Franklin, Cynthia Voegeli, Mark Stirewalt; and precious dog, Misty.

Her family would like to express a special thanks to Vicki and her team at Catawba Regional Hospice for their loving care of Linda.

A service of remembrance will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 15, 2013 in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Conover with Rev. Rick Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Conover City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. on Friday prior to the service.
