Mae Prince Thomas

She was born June 19, 1920 in Henderson County to the late Manson Prince and Martha Gilbert Prince. She was a member of North Newton Baptist Church.

Mae is preceded in death by her father, Manson Prince; mother, Martha Gilbert Prince; and husband, Earnest (Mousie) Thomas.

Survivors include her children, Pearl Haynes and Charles Haynes of Newton; grandchildren, June Gunter and Junior Gunter of Newton, and Melvin Haynes and girlfriend, Sherry Hudson, of Maiden; great-grandchildren, Justin Gunter and Shannon Gunter of Catawba, and Stephanie McManus and Joe McManus of Newton; and great-great grandchildren, CJ Gunter of Catawba, Gunnison Gunter of Catawba, Aidyn McManus of Newton, Cooper McManus of Newton, Addysen McManus of Newton, and Maverick Gunter of Catawba.

A service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 5, 2015 in the chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Conover. Pastor Lloyd King and Reverend Tom Early will officiate. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be David Black, CJ Gunter, Junior Gunter, Justin Gunter, Melvin Haynes, and Joe McManus.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Drum Funeral Home.
