Marcella Lee Sigmon Sigmon, age 98, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Abernethy Laurels in Newton. Born June 28, 1917, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Leslie E. Sigmon and Ada Bolick Sigmon. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Claremont and retired from Martin Marietta where she was a secretary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin M. Sigmon; sisters, Catherine Estell Herman, Gaynell Little, Ara Caziah; brothers, Carroll Sigmon, Herman Sigmon, and Smith Sigmon.
Left to cherish her memory are several sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Bethel Lutheran Church with Rev. Eric Hollar and Rev. Craig Schultz officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. prior to the service.
