Margaret "Peggy" Louise Thompson Day

Margaret “Peggy” Thompson Day, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born August 13, 1939, in Washington County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Thompson and Ruth Baker Thompson. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church in Newton, NC. Peggy was an Elder in the Presbyterian Church. She was active in Presbyterian Women and a dedicated member of the Care Team. Peggy was a voracious reader and belonged to several book clubs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, David Patterson Day.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Amy Day Yenderusiak and husband, Leo; sons, John David Day and wife, Ionela, Patrick Thomas Day and wife, Katie; grandchildren, Meg Yenderusiak, Paul Day, Georgia Clare Day, Griffin Day, Galvin Day, Cora Day and Quintin Day.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in the chapel with Rev. Steven Barnes officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service on Friday.
