

Margie Belle Sigmon Bowman, age 92, of Conover, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021. Born December 16, 1928 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Foree and Carrie Belle Hedrick Sigmon.
In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Max Smyre Bowman; son, Tommy Bowman; brothers, Charles, Henry and Vernon Sigmon; and sister, Mattie Sigmon.
She is survived by her daughters, Ketha Benfield (Alan), Tanya Harkins (Kim); brother, Robert Sigmon; sister, Mary Kirkland; grandchildren, Delaina (Brandon), Wendy (Jake), Zach (Brittney), Katie (Patrick), and Chris; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Ella, Collyn, Chloey, Cambyll, Carsyn, and Vivi.
Margie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and cherished her family. She retired from Conover Medical Clinic as a lab technician, and enjoyed traveling and cooking. She was especially known for her chicken pies. Margie was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, taught Sunday School, and served on numerous church committees.
Her ashes will be buried next to her husband and son at Conover City Cemetery following a family graveside service with Pastor Michael Geml of Concordia Lutheran Church of Conover officiating.
