Born August 14, 1942 in Iredell County, she was the daughter of the late Jim Richard and Pearl Bowman Benfield. She was a seamstress.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene Benfield and Richard Benfield.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Lacy “Buddy” T. Ratley, Jr. of the home; two sons, Donnie Lee Harmon and wife, Jeanne of Conover, NC and Scott Franklin Ratley of Hickory, NC; grandchildren, Miranda Harmon, Derrick Harmon; great grandchildren, Demi Wray, Kiley Harmon and Maddox Harmon.
A service of remembrance will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, April 11, 2013 in the chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Conover. Pastor Tom Church will officiate and burial will be in Catawba Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Ruff, John Trivette, Howard McCray and Derrick Harmon.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the funeral home.
