Norman “Cookie” Yates, 62, of Newton passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Newton.
Born December 20, 1951 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Cicero Victor and Emma Pauline Helton Yates.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kent Yates.
Survivors include sisters Elizabeth Navey and her husband Kenneth Thomas of Lincolnton, NC, Evelyn Yates of Rhodhiss, NC, and Mary Sue Lumnah and her husband Steven of Binghamton, NY; and a brother, Glenn Yates of Conway, SC.
