

Born December 16, 1925, in Ashe County, NC, he was the son of the late Dewey Corbit and Laura Church Ham.
He was formerly employed in the Furniture business by Charles Harland Company working in the upholstery department. Roy’s passion was for music and making instruments.
In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by two brothers, Freeman Ham and James Ham; a granddaughter, Mary Louise Ham; and a grandson, Nathan Fulbright.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Sigmon Ham; children, Alma Ham Fulbright of Hickory, Lisa Ham Travis and significant other, Lamar Pressley of Newton, Roy Michael Ham of Newton, and Tammy R. Ham of Claremont; brother, Roger Ham and wife, Virginia of Newton; sister, Francis H. Wilcox of Lansing; grandchildren, Daniel Travis, Bradley Ham and wife, Kendra, Eric Travis, Angie Cutter, Bobbi Jo Williams and husband, Justin, Brent Day, Laura Ham, Madison Ham, Joe Wayne Fulbright, and Rosa F. Russell; great-grandchildren, Jadyn, Alix, Mackenzie, Brianna, Gavin, Landon, Brooklyn, and two on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Drum Funeral Home in Conover with Pastor Anna Merritt officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park, Hickory.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, June 3, 2013 at Drum Funeral Home.
