

Born on January 19, 1938, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Audrey Josephine LaSalle Kammer and Arthur Oswald Kammer, Survivors are his loving wife, Diana D. Kammer, his daughters, Crystal Ann King of LaPorte and Tanya Lynn Smith of Willis. Grandson, Bradly Curtis King of LaPorte, Granddaughter Kayla Breann Petran of Willis, Great Grandchildren, Kyler, Kattum, Kylan, Hayden, Braxton and Holden. Preceding him in death daughter Carla Joyce Little of Houston.
He served in the U. S. Navy from 1955-1963, as a naval flight crew chief. His professional life began in 1963, working 36 years with Southern Pacific Railroad, Inglewood Yard Master in Houston, he retired in 1999.
Longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Conroe, and a member at The Community of St. Anne Catholic Church serving at both parishes as an EMOC. Member of the Knights of Columbus for 25 years, as their financial secretary. Awards received, Knight of the month, Knight of the year, Family of the month and Family of the year. Member of St. Vincent de Paul also working in the food pantry. His passion for helping others in need by picking up and delivering donations of food from various retailers and distributing them throughout the community. Other membership includes American Legion Post 618 in Willis, President of the Willis Seniors Organization.
This kind loving man being an 8-time cancer survivor; battled cancer for over 35 years. He has been a beacon of hope for many years by devoting his time and effort in fighting for a cure through Relay for Life in The Woodlands and currently Conroe. In 2010, In honor of his daughter Carla Joyce after she lost her battle with cancer, he and his wife started a relay team named Carla’s Crusaders.
Other Interests included, traveling, enjoying nature, feeding birds, squirrels and raised goats for many years. Coinsurer of Western movies and trivia.
