Ben was proud to serve our country as an Air Force soldier and continued into the reserves. In his younger days, Ben was never seen without his overalls and a cigar. As he got older, Ben was often found building things on his front porch. He was an avid bird house builder, but could build just about anything. Ben loved his family, friends, and the outdoors. He was always up to cook a meal or play a game of dominos. Ben was a kind and generous man who always had a meal or place to stay for a friend in need. Ben had many jobs throughout his life, but his favorite was being a PawPaw. His eyes would light up when he talked about his grandkids. He would brag to anyone who would listen about each one of them. His stories and jokes will be forever missed.
Ben was preceded in death by his parents; Luther and Margie Fletcher, his daughter; Amanda McCarter, and his sisters; Nellie and Betty. He is survived by his son; Clay (Carrie) Fletcher, daughter; April (Jason) Walker, brother; Bobby Fletcher, grandchildren; Hailey, Ty, Zackary, Brionna, Abigail, and Cole, as well as countless nieces and nephews.
