With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Bettie Sue Tomczak on May 2, 2026. She departed this world gently at her cherished home, surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness. She was born on June 14, 1959, in the serene town of Montgomery, Texas, to Paul and Betty Hoffart, who precede her in death, along with her beloved husband, Ike Steve Tomczak Jr. married on October 18, 1975, and their cherished son, Ike Tomczak III born on November 3, 1976 and her brother Paul Hoffart Jr.
Bettie Sue's life was a tapestry woven with love, resilience, and dedication. She forged lifelong friendships and established a foundation for the compassionate life she would lead. Bettie Sue found her calling in nurturing young lives at a daycare facility, where her gentle spirit, infectious laughter, and her paintings brightened the days of many children and colleagues alike.
A true artist at heart, Bettie had an unparalleled talent for transforming spaces. Her home was a testament to her creativity and love for celebrating life, adorned beautifully for every holiday. Her door was always open, offering a warm and inviting environment that welcomed all who visited. Her hospitality and generosity were boundless, and her home was a sanctuary filled with love, laughter, and comfort. Bettie Sue’s generous nature was evident every time someone commented on liking something of hers. She would said “well just take it.” If she really liked something that you had, she would say she wanted one also and “How do I get it?”
Bettie's competitive spirit was well known, particularly around the Wa-hoo game board, where she was a formidable opponent, often emerging victorious. Her joyful spirit was infectious, and her laughter could light up the darkest of days.
Affectionately known as Sweet Aunt Bettie Sue, she loved to travel 59 and 77 toward Corpus Christi, TX to pick up Nya and Kye Fischer so they could stay in Houston for a while and get to know their cousin Brody Neal as he was always staying with Sweet Aunt Bettie Sue.
Bettie is survived by her treasured grandchildren, Ike Tomczak IV and Carleigh Kethan (Juan Contreras Jr), along with great grandchildren Amodo, Samantha and Juan Contreras who will carry forward her legacy of love and resilience. Her sisters, Rena Tomczak (Anthony), and Mary Jane Tielke (Rickey), along with many nieces and nephews, and many great-niece and great-nephews, will continue to celebrate her life and memory.
The family extends heartfelt appreciation to all those who cared for Bettie, providing comfort and companionship. Your kindness and compassion will always be remembered.
As we say goodbye to a wonderful woman who touched the lives of so many, we take solace in knowing that Bettie Sue Tomczak's spirit will forever be a guiding light for all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, cherished and celebrated for generations to come.
