Betty Jo Worthen

Betty led an active life, but will be remembered most for her love of the Lord and of her church. She attended Mims Baptist Church for over 50 years and served in many ministries there. “Miss Betty” was loved by everyone who knew her and will be greatly missed, but we know she is rejoicing in Heaven. “We are confident, yes, well pleased to be absent from the body and present with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:8

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Howard; parents and siblings, most recently her brother, Herbert (Kix) Lamp Jr. She is survived by her son, Michael Mitchell; daughter, Melissa Hill; grandsons, David Mitchell and wife Katie, Jason Hill and wife Liesel; granddaughters, Jennifer Hill, Jessica Lopez and husband Jeff; great grandsons, Liam and Rowan Mitchell, Otto Hill, and Dylan Lopez; sister-in-law Bobbie Lamp and numerous nieces and nephews, including Mark Lamp and Rhonda Williams who were especially helpful to her during her later life.

Visitation will be held at Cashner Funeral Home, in Conroe, Texas, on Sunday, February 3, 2019 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.

Funeral service for Betty Jo Worthen will be held at Mims Baptist Church in Conroe, Texas on Monday, February 4, 2019 at 10:00am with interment following at Conroe Memorial Park Cemetery.
