Carolyn Sue Rains

Sue was a flight attendant in the 70’s for Continental Airlines which is where she met her future husband. They were married on September 14, 1974, and had their first child, a son in 1978, a second son in 1980, and a daughter in 1983. She lived for her family and showed strength, selflessness, patience, and compassion to all. Sue was a housewife and a phenomenal stay-at-home mom for many years until she went back to school to become a massage therapist. Sue had a sweet caring nature and gifts from God that helped so many people have relief from pain and discomfort.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Lawrence “Larry” Rains, her children Brandon Rains and Kathryn Marquez, her brother Bill Collins, sister-in-law Thelma Collins, grandchildren Taylor Rains, Hailey Rains, Cataleya Marquez, Ashley Rains, Cameron Rains, Callan Rains, Sebastian Marquez, and Dylan Marquez, son-in-law Charles Marquez, daughter-in-law Jessica Rains, niece Mary Sue Muns, nephews Brian Collins and Randy Collins, and many other family and friends.

Sue is preceded in death by her son, Charles Rains, her mom Lorene Pitts, and her mother-in-law Margaret Wagner.

A memorial service for Carolyn will be held Saturday, May 10, 2025 beginning 10:00 AM at Cornerstone Church of Cleveland 27453 Highway 105 W Cleveland, TX 77328.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the family.

The family of Carolyn Sue Rains would like to thank Julie and Aisha with Home Care Select Hospice for taking such wonderful care of her in her final weeks of life. There are many neighbors and church brothers and sisters that the family is grateful for too.
