Thomas Carter Moore passed away Friday, February 23, 2024 in his home at the age of 86. Carter was born in Willis, Texas but went on to spend the rest of his life with roots planted deep in Conroe. He married his beloved bride, Geraldine Puckett on June 12, 1959. They had their first son, Tommy, September 5, 1961. They went on to have their second son, Russell, January 18, 1966. If you knew Carter, then you knew how much his family meant to him.
The pride he had in his family always came first, but the pride he had for his city held a very close second. He poured his heart into Conroe, TX. He and his brothers, Howard and Tyrone, served the community first with Moore Brothers Lumber Company that was established in 1956. Carter later began his career with the city in 1980 by serving on the planning commission for 9 years, followed by a year spent on City Council, which then led to his most notable contribution as Mayor of Conroe from 1991-2004. Carter was a dedicated member of the community, had an unmatched work ethic, and a servants heart. All of these titles he wore very proudly and honestly.
Carter is survived by: his wife, Geraldine Moore. His sons: Tommy Moore and wife Ginna, Russell Moore and wife Laurel.
