

In death, he joins the love of his life and wife of 62 years, Dorothy Jean Lowery. He leaves behind his daughter Charlene Annelle Lowery, son Michael Choice Lowery, daughter-in-law Peggy Lowery, and sister Nancy Lee. Additionally, Charles had six grandchildren who were the light of his life: Devonie Kemp-Baker (husband Robert Baker), Jeremy Lowery, Randy Wheeler (wife Joanna Wheeler), Jenna Lowery-Horn (husband Aaron Horn), Alix Keller, and Lindsay Taylor-Strimple (husband Michael Strimple). He also had nine precious great-grandchildren: Zane Ransom, Zachary Wheeler, Kamran Aiden, Elijah Christopher, Kylie Wheeler, Baron Vaughn, Zula Jean, Aiyana Strimple, and Josephine Horn.
The son of David Otto and Eunice Bessie Lowery, Charles was born June 11th, 1926 in Beaumont, Texas. Charles enlisted in the United States Navy where he served until May of 1946, the same year that he married his one and only love, Dorothy Jean Everton. As a fiercely dedicated husband and family man, Charles began his lifelong career as an iron worker and retired after 42 years at the age of 62. After retiring, Charles spent a great deal of time bonding with his beloved dog and best friend, Topaz. He also enjoyed reading westerns, playing guitar, bird-watching and working with his hands. Charles devoted his life to loving, honoring and celebrating his family.
