He is remembered as a loving Christian man with an incredibly kind heart and a wonderful personality. For 22 years he served as a greeter at The Ark Church. Charles was a World War II veteran where he served in the United States Air Force in Guam. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading, especially when the context was medical or Christian based, and a good game of bridge was always welcomed.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Constance Maria Porter, and brother Thomas Porter. He leaves behind his loving wife of nearly 46 years, Josiane Porter, children Marie-Paule Lecocq and husband Jules Steenwinckel, and Isabelle Lecocq, brother William Porter, sister Margaret Hoel, and grandchildren Lucas Van Baren, Alexis Van Baren, Shannon, & Carey.
Charles’ family would like to thank everyone for their support and help during this hard time.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home.
