This world was gifted with the life of Charlie Cooper on February 3, 1976. For 45 years some of us came to know the sheer honor and joy of having a relationship with a man who defined the very meaning of being a Man of God. Although Heaven received him back ,on September 4, 2021, the world will remain profoundly changed for good.
Some of us will never be the same simply from knowing a man who knew what it was like to be like Jesus. Although our hearts may feel empty from the loss of a man who had such a big place in our life, he left a hole that can only be filled with the love of the God he served.
Charlie Cooper loved hunting and adventure. The greatest adventure of his lifetime, came when he met his lifelong love, Jamie Cooper, She was his world. His never-ending smile only intensified when he saw her and she became the only adventure he ever longed for.
Not only did she give him all the love she had to give, but she also gave him children so that he could love them endlessly. The grand babies took his joy to another level altogether. You see, family was all that mattered to Charlie. In a world that longs for the love of a father, Charlie was the standard bearer to what a father should be. He loved bigger than what we thought humanly possible. To know him was to know the Father’s love.
Charlie was a member of Family Faith Church where he served alongside his wife and children. He will be dearly missed by his family, his church, and his friends. But one thing is for certain. His legacy will live on.
Charlie Cooper is survived by his wife, Jamie Cooper; children, Shelby Benson and husband Mitchell, Caleb Cooper, Chloe Cooper and fiancé Gabe Chadis, and Ty Cooper; grandchildren Kye Benson, Aubrie Chadis, and Kamden Benson. He is also survived by numerous siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
