

Christine Ann Kocian, age 94, passed away November 18, 2025, in Spring, Texas. Christine was born June 2, 1931, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Plantersille, Texas.
After a childhood surrounded by close relatives, Chris married Harry Kocian in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on November 22, 1951. Harry’s career took the family to Maryland, West Virginia, Michigan, Louisiana, Delaware, and Texas. After his retirement, Harry and Chris moved to April Sound in Montgomery, Texas in 1988. Chris finally moved to the Forum in The Woodlands in 2024. She made friends everywhere and was active with Newcomer’s Clubs where she bowled, played bridge, and excelled at golf. Her culinary skills included candy making starting in Flint, Michigan and creole cooking in Metarie, Louisiana. She sewed clothing and home décor, knitted, crocheted, wove, and did needlepoint. She made pottery and terra cotta sculptures, and delighted many with her handmade porcelain dolls.
She is preceded in death by husband Harry Kocian; parents, Michael and Agnes Spragale (nee Satovsek), brother Stephen Spragale and his wife Dolores, and daughter-in-law Julie Kocian; also her companion Jim Maxwell. Chris is survived by sons, Mark Kocian; Greg Kocian and wife Joyce; Eric Kocian and wife Annette; daughter, Carol Kocian; grandchildren, Brian McCauley and wife Lisa; Jeff Kocian and wife Leanne, Kevin Kocian and wife Tracy, Matthew Kocian and wife Austin, Kimberly Kocian and husband Scott Flynn, Damon Roberts and wife Cassie, David Roberts, Jenni Schlappie and husband Jim; great grandchildren, Brandon Roberts; Josh, Jillian and Jordan Schlappie; Kaylee, Madeline, and Caleb McCauley, Evelyn and Olivia Kocian; Cecilia and Mabel Kocian.
