Uncle Danny, August 11th 2012
The world lost a great man that day. I'll never forget you. You have made a permanent imprint on my life. You are no longer physically on this earth, but spiritually, living vicariously through all of us. You have made an incredible impact on so many people and I can assure you that grandmother and grandpa are very proud of you.
I'll never forget when I got to visit you in California. You showed me your world, and even let me touch your most prized guitars. I knew then that you were my role model that very day. You're the perfect example that if you want something bad enough and work hard enough, you can achieve anything. You have inspired me in so many ways uncle Danny. You lit a fire in my heart. I wish to pursue my music because of you.
I always thought you were so cool and I knew I wanted to be like you. I will never forget that year, fifth grade. I went back to school and told all my friend's that I visited you in California. I told them how incredible it was there, how gorgeous Hacienda Heights was, how packed and interesting Hollywood was, and how sweet the rides were at Disney land.
But the one thing that I was most proud of was you, Uncle Danny. I told everyone that my uncle was a 'rockstar' for years, and I bet you can guess what I dressed as for Halloween that year. Yep, you got it. I was a rockstar. You always acted as a protector over my cousins, brother, sisters and I. You'd do anything for us and that meant the world to me. Your days with us have come to an end, but it is only a new beginning for you. I want you to know that I think I speak for everyone when I say you have impacted all of our lives in some way, whether it be by your book, your music, or just by your skill, intelligence and passion for everything you did. I love you dearly, I miss you more and I can't wait to one day again see you and grandpa in heaven.
