Darrell Lehman Pennell, age 82, of The Woodlands, TX died November 23, 2019 while under the care of Devotion Hospice and Silverado-The Woodlands, a Memory Care Facility. Darrell was born on March 30, 1937 in Barberton, OH to the late Clarence and Ruth (Baker) Pennell. At an early age, his family moved to Uniontown, OH. While growing up in Uniontown, Darrell became an Eagle Scout; he attended and graduated from Uniontown High School where he played football. Darrell attended Akron University where he completed his degree in Business Administration; while there he served as president of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. Darrell worked at Firestone Tire & Rubber Company during college and upon graduation, worked in the Information Technology Department at BF Goodrich in Akron, OH. This is where he met his second wife, Carolyn, and they were married on November 20, 1980. Shortly after, they moved to Houston, TX where Darrell was employed by Houston Lighting and Power, later becoming Center Point Energy, from which he retired after 20 years of service. During his leisure time, Darrell enjoyed bowling, golf and hiking. Darrell was a great handyman and spent a lot of time working around the house, in the garage and caring for the yard.
In addition to his wife, Carolyn, those left to mourn his passing are daughters, Kelli Linick (Jeff) of Roanoke, VA and Jennifer Pennell of The Woodlands, TX; sisters, Barby Palmer of Carrollton, OH, Bonnie Jarrett Thiele of Wilmington, NC; brothers, Jim Jarrett (Nan) of Mogadore, OH and Jere Jarrett (Marie) of Clearwater, FL; grandchildren Britney, Caleb and Brooklyn Linick and multiple nieces and nephews as well as extended family. In addition to his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by his sister, Ruthanne Patterson and brothers-in-law Pat Patterson and Tom Palmer.
