Howard Holick, 80, of Conroe, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025. Born on May 8, 1945, in Houston, Texas, to William Holick and Annie Bell Sostack, Howard lived a full and loving life defined by hard work, humor, and a deep devotion to family.
A proud graduate of Reagan High School and the University of Houston, where he earned his associate degree, Howard built a career in ink sales with SunChemical, dedicating over 30 years to a profession he took great pride in. But Howard’s life was always about more than work. He was a member of AQHA and had a true passion for horses, team penning, and coaching. He poured his heart into softball and baseball, sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with generations of young athletes.
Howard met the love of his life, Kathy, in Dallas, and they married in 1986. Together, they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and family. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and took immense pride in watching them grow. Whether it was on a ballfield or at home surrounded by animals he cherished—especially his beloved dog, Buttons—Howard found joy in life’s simple moments.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Annie Bell, his wife Kathy Holick, his sister Carol Willhouse, his brother Harvey Holick, his first wife Sandy Holick, and his grandson Cody Holick.
Howard is survived by his children Karen and husband Steven Swearingen, Kim Holick and girlfriend Julia Isbell, Debbie Holick, and Bill Holick and girlfriend Theresa Whaley; stepchildren Kim and husband Kyle King and Steve Garlington and wife; grandchildren Cory Holick, Chase Holick, Damon and wife Erica Holick, and Makenzie Ness; great-grandchildren Arianna, Kasen, Charlie, and Giulia; and nieces and nephews Stacy Kirkland, Paula Cline, and Chris Willhouse.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who stood beside them throughout Howard’s journey, especially the kind and patient county employees who treated him with dignity and care.
Howard Holick leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and laughter. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. A Memorial Visitation to celebrate Howard's life will be Friday, August 1, 2025, from 2:00 pm till 5:00 pm, at Cashner Funeral Home.
