Hi.  I am so sorry for your loss and sorry I didn't find Mr. Popham before he passed away.  My mom is Joan (Brown) Jouppi and I think we might be related.  Her aunt was Cora Popham and she was from Hamilton, MT.  If there is someone who is interested in connecting, please call me at 906-282-0274 Sarah or Joan at 906-282-1779.  I am working on genealogy and would love to hear from you.  Again, I am so sorry for your loss, Jack looks like a loving, family man. 

Katheryn and Scott, Joe and I were so sad to hear of Jack’s passing. Jack and I had a blast together. Old Windham days and real estate. Jack talked me into going into the real estate business. What a great journey it has been. I loved Jack!! He was a great buddy. I wish we could of seen him more in the last few years.  He will be missed!!  Judy Emmett

We met Jack not too long after we moved to Huntsville. We met him through St. Thomas Church, and he was part of a loose-knit group of us who were fairly new to the community and had children about the same age. We always enjoyed Jack's wry sense of humor, and we still remember the time he served us "pasties" which, as we remember it, he learned to make when he lived in Montana.  As Huntsville is a fairly small town, it also turned out that Janet had Scott as one of her students when she taught fourth grade. 

So there were lots of connections, but the one that lasted the longest was when Jack became our State Farm Insurance agent and stayed our agent even after moving to Conroe. Whether it was help with fixing a storm-damaged roof or help with replacing a garage door after our daughter tried to back the car out of the garage before the door was open, we always knew we could count on Jack for the best possible service.  For us he really embodied the sentiment of "Like a Good Neighbor" for he was always there when needed.

My sincere condolences to everyone that knew and loved Jack.  You have been my friend for so many years and I feel a loss so very deep.  I know that you loved my sweet friend Queta Carroll for many, many years.  And I thank you for taking such great care of her through her illness.  I'm certain she was grateful to be able to care for you in turn.  You two were a dynamic duo.  Rest in peace Jack.  You were so loved.

Scott and Kathryn: You, both, were the light of his life! He always had stories to share about you and your times together. A fellow Montanan, a treasured neighbor, a realtor that helped us find our home on Avenue O, and an insurance agent that was indeed, “like a good neighbor..” Jack had been through some tough times, but always maintained a keen sense of humor...we loved making “pasties” (meat and potato pie in a sealed crust, that the miners would carry to work) at both his house and ours, on Shady Lane, all ingredients in the sink, Jack up to his elbows mixing it. “And don’t forget the turnips”. A little Tom and Jerry to drink, and the pasties turned out scrumptious! We made enough for an entire mining crew. Not to mention the mess left behind in the kitchen! All this event filled with laughter and stories shared with our dear friend...he will always be a big part of our fondest memories.  Rest & Peace in Gods loving arms, Jack...you deserve it!

A sad day for sure, BUT one that gives pause for the gift of friendship.  I am going to miss Jack dearly but am so glad for the indelible memories of more than 40 years. Jack was a confidante,  an adviser, a commiserator and as loyal a friend  that anyone could ask for.  My life was better because of my friend, Jack Popham.  Lovina and I celebrate your life. Ciao, Jack.

Dear Kathryn and Scott....
We grieve with you the loss of your sweet, outrageously funny, kind hearted Daddy. We have decades of fond memories our families shared together....I was just  recently watching the video of Kathryn’s dance recital “ It’s a hard knock life”  from ANNIE....and I can still in my minds eye see Scott going off with Dr Patrick, in his boy scout uniform...and Kathryn along with our own Meaghan playing in the
“ cold pool”  when we would vacation together at Landa Park in New Braunfels....We loved your Mom and Dad and miss them all the more in Jack’s passing. Please know you always have a home with us.... stay in touch....we send our love,
