

Known to his family and friends as Jimmy or Jim, he was born in Floydada, TX., on July 11,1927, to Roy and Jewel Lotspeich. He attended Reagan High School, in Houston, Tx. and graduated from the class of 1945. In August of 1946, he married his high school sweetheart, Gladys J. Richardson. Together they raised four beautiful children and went on to celebrate seventy-four years of love and marriage.
Jimmy proudly served his country, serving in the Navy, as an Aviation Electronics Technician. He served in both WWII and the Korean wars. After leaving the Navy, Jimmy’s career was in construction, in the Houston area. He had his own construction company for a few years, then joined GTE Mobilenet, where he worked in Fl., overseeing the building of their mobile towers. He retired from GTE Mobilenet, and he and Gladys returned to Tx. to enjoy their retirement years.
In 1963 Jimmy became a Freemason. As a mason for over 60 years. he served as Worshipful Master at Reagan Lodge, in Houston, Tx., from 1970 -1971, and as Worshipful Master at Mount Moriah Lodge in Coldspring, Tx. from 1999-2000.
Jimmy is survived and will be remembered by his children and their spouses: Cheryl Jeter (Richard), Peggy Meinhart (Tom), Patricia Gee (Duane), James K. Lotspeich (Joy). He is also survived by his three grandchildren and their spouses: Janet Morrison (Matt), Susan Cipolla, James Cipolla (Leah), and his five great grandchildren: Blake, Audrey, Skylar and Chloe Morrison and Graham Cipolla.
He is preceded in death by his wife Gladys J. Lotspeich, his parents Roy and Jewel Lotspeich, his sister Edith Brown, a great granddaughter Skylar Morrison, and his son-in law Duane Gee.
Graveside services will be held at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Tx. on October 17, 2025, at 2pm.
