I remember the first time I ever met Jane.  It was in a dining room of an eating place.  Imagine that!  I asked, “What’s for dinner?”, “What’s on the menu?”  I said, “How about black-eyed peas, mustard greens, and cornbread?”  She said, “No.”  I said, “Collard greens and sweet potatoes?”  She said, “No”.  “How about biscuits and gravy?”.  She said, “No”.  I said, “Well I guess you don’t have anything in here that is good, do you?”  She just looked at me.  Then our met and I said, “Except one thing!”  “Can I take you out to dinner?”  She said, “Yes”.  After dinner, I asked her if I could see her again and she said, “Yes!”  We went out to a hamburger place.  She said, “Hold the onions, please?”  I knew right then that she was serious, so I said, “Hold mine too!”  I remember the first time I kissed Jane.  It was our one-month anniversary.  I kissed her on the face, at 12 pm midnight, in the dark, just outside the doorway of her house.  One of my colleagues said, “I saw that!”   That is when I learned that love is blind but the neighbors ain’t!   I remember the first time I proposed to a real lady!  It was Jane.  The only Lady that I ever dated, the only woman I ever loved.  She said, “Yes!”  I remember our first child.  I lost her to her mother at age 6.  I remember our second child who I lost to her mother at age 5.  Our third child I lost to his mother at age 3 while he was trying to rake leaves in the top of a tree.  My kids still love me but she was their mother.  We have loved each other for more than 58 years and I miss her.

Several years ago the phone rang at my office at the national quartet convention in Louisville Kentucky and on the other end of the line was this delightful voice belonging to Jane Lemmons! She was renewing her tickets for September! She and I fell in love over the telephone and at the next convention we met, hug, and enjoyed such a wonderful friendship. At every convention she always made sure that she came to see us everyday and gave us all a hug, and I can assure you that everyone who worked at the nqc fell in love with this vivacious wonderful lady. And everyone knew her from the ushers and the security and even the president of the board and all the board members. She was special. All through the years, she would call me once a month on her way to work at Cracker Barrel, and we would catch up on news, and her family, and my family, and the concerts that she had just been to and the ones that she was on her way to! Jane was so special. She called me from her hospital bed and told me about being ill and my heart has been broken ever since. She will be missed so tremendously at the nqc and also at all gospel concerts. For me I can't imagine convention without that gorgeous smile and her bright colored jackets. I love and I miss you Jane. Thank God for the promise of Heaven.

Our family really missed her last weekend at the concert at FBC New Waverly. No piano player and her sweet welcome. Blessings to her family.

We first met Ms Jane at a gospel concert in Houston about 4 years ago.  Then we ran into her at the National Quartet Convention .  It was fun looking for her at the concerts.   She was always very nice.  I wish I had heard her play the piano.  I tried to come to the service, but my GPS just too me to a field...  I know she is in heaven singing with the saints.  

My heart was saddened when I learned of Sis Lemmons just today. I have so many wonderful memories with the Lemmons family and for their faithfulness when they pastored our church. And all the fun we had at my parents house. The music she played and sang. She will be missed by many. Praying for Bro Lemmons, Mike, Les and all the family. 

Aunt Jane was always smiling and kind.  When she visited Pa to see her mother, my great-grandmother, she often brought treats for me and my brother and sister.  She had a fun personality and I have good memories of her.  I’m sure she is enjoying heaven today.

I will never forget Jane and her piano playing.  She was a precious Christian lady who will be missed by so many people.  I send my thoughts and prayers to Jim, her two sons and her family.  May God bless and comfort all of you.🙏🏻

We met Jane at National Quartet Convention in Louisville and enjoyed visiting with her at Houston area concerts and Cracker Barrel. Her ready smile and caring heart were examples to us of a true servant of the Lord. She will be greatly missed by so many. Our prayers remain with her precious family. 

Jane's love for music was so contagious and inspiring! We know that while we will forever miss her talent on this earth, heaven is rejoicing with her presence.  While we may have been unprepared for her being called to home in heaven, our faithful Savior  had planned for her arrival and welcomed her home. We pray that God give you His supernatural comfort that only He can provide to  ease your pain, heal your heartfelt loss and that you would KNOW His presence that surrounds you in peace. Our deepest sympathy and prayers are with you.

Dear Jim, our deepest sympathies at your loss of precious Jane. Precious memories of so many years ago - but read through the "memories" and talking with Daneen and David made us realize that the very sweet Jane we knew then lived on for Jesus until her going to heaven. God's blessings and comfort to you and the family. Ps 23 speaks so much ---He is our Shepherd and walks with us through the valley of the shadow.... Praise Him Forever and ever. I fell in love with Jane almost the moment I first met here at Chick-fil-a in the Mercer Mall, Bluefield, WV. She and Jim became dear friends of ours and remain so after all these years!! We met Jane at a Gospel Concert in Humble several years ago.  She always wore a distinctive and colorful coat and her hair was exquisitely coiffured.    We talked to her often and she was constantly telling us where the best concerts were and encouraging us to go the the National Quartet Convention.  

She always called us the "the couple from Magnolia".  We loved her and will miss her like family.  We attended the Dignity concert on April 7th and commented once again that we hadn't seen Jane.  She wasn't at the Mims Baptist Church for  the Collingworths either.  I remember telling Jana, my wife, that we would have to go to Cracker Barrel in Conroe to see her.  I know she's in a better place and she's praising her Savior, but we'll miss her A LOT.  She lived her life passionately doing what she enjoyed - Gospel Music.  

I do anticipate that, just like Cracker Barrel, Jane will be there to greet us just inside Heaven's Door.  We just got one more reason for longing for Heaven.

Sending out deepest sympathy on your loss.  We loved to hear her play the piano.  She will be missed.  May God comfort your family during this time.

What a special and talented lady. I enjoyed hearing her play the piano. She loved southern gospel music and supported the Crystal river quartet. I appreciated her support and encouragement. She loved Jesus and she loved her neighbors. 

Go rest high Mrs Jane in the arms of Jesus. 

My memory of Ms. Jane will always be of her love of playing the piano and that sweet woman who greeted us at the door of the Cracker Barrel in Conroe.   What a joy and pleasure it was to be a part of our dear sweet little country church and have such talent shared with us.    What a sweet way to start a meal by having Ms. Jane greeting us when we were able to eat at Cracker Barrel during her work schedule.  She will be missed so very much but what a joy in knowing she is now with her Savior, no doubt playing for Him now.  My thoughts and prayers are with her family now as they face the days ahead without her here.
