Jennifer Ann Schwarzenberger passed quietly from this life on Tuesday, September 15, 2015. Jennifer was born on May 12, 1945 to Molly and Geoffrey Wakefield, in the town of Tunbridge Wells, in the County of Kent, in England.
She attended the Haywoods Heath secondary school, where she graduated in 1961 with her GCE O level certificates. She went on to technical college where she learned business management, stenography and office management.
She immigrated to the United States in April 1966 with her family where she lived near New Iberia Louisiana for a number of years. In 1970 she moved to Dorado Beach, Puerto Rico where she met the love of her life Klaus Schwarzenberger. They were married in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1974 where Klaus was working as a chef for Marriott hotels. They lived in various cities and country where Klaus’s job took them, including, Chicago Illinois, Portland Oregon, Denver Colorado, Tucson Arizona, Kissimmee Florida and Houston Texas.
In 1983 they opened their own restaurant in Tomball, called the Hun and Limey which they ran for a number of years. After they sold the restaurant, Jennifer worked for a number of years for her family’s landscape company in Conroe, Texas.
Jennifer enjoyed traveling with Klaus and made several trips back to Klaus’s native Germany, including one memorable trip immediately after the fall of the Berlin wall. On this trip she was able to meet Klaus’s family who had been trapped in East Germany since the end of World War II. She enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid gardener. She loves nature and all animals especially her dogs and cats.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Molly and Geoffrey Wakefield and her beloved Klaus. She is survived by her brothers Michael and Peter Wakefield, Peter’s wife Patricia four nephews, Christopher, Anthony, David and Mark Wakefield and 11 great grand nephews and nieces.
She will be sadly missed by all her neighbors and good friends; to whom she was very close.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 18, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00PM at Metcalf Funeral Directors with thea Rosary beginning at 7pm. Her funeral mass will be celebrated by Father Philip Wilhite at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, at 2pm on Saturday, September 19, 2015.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make donations to the American Cancer Society in Jennifer and Klaus’s name.
