John Wesley Fenley Jr., age 66, passed away on April 7, 2026. Born September 2, 1959, he was a resident of Conroe, Texas, and was of Diboll, Texas. He will be remembered as a beloved and cherished presence—someone whose steady devotion to those he loved was matched by a quietly humorous spirit that could lighten a room, and by a hard-working nature that showed itself in the way he lived each day.
John attended Diboll I.S.D. and later continued his education at Angelina College, where he graduated with an associate’s degree—an achievement that reflected his determination and practical resolve.
He served in the United States Army as a private, and he carried forward the discipline of that service into his working life. He was also a maintenance tech at Optimum Cable Company, known for a strong work ethic and a willingness to do what needed to be done with care and consistency.
John shared 45 years of marriage with Jessie Fenley. He also leaves behind his children, as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry forward his memory with love. He is survived by his brother, Ray Sr. (Sandra) of Diboll, Texas; brother, Aaron (Lavenia) of Lufkin, Texas; and sister, Loretta (Larry) Oliver of Lufkin, Texas, along with a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Wesley Fenley, Sr. and Jannie Haynes Fenley; and by his sister, Marilyn Gardner.
In quieter moments, John found joy in music. He played the guitar, banjo, and keyboard piano—gifts that offered comfort, companionship, and a way to share a part of himself beyond words.
Though his passing leaves a deep absence, the example he set—of devotion, perseverance, and warmth—remains. John will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
