Jon spent his life as a true non-conformist and a self-proclaimed free spirit. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to his neighbors and friends but rarely asked for help. He was very stubborn in that way. He would always tell his son Ean just be a good person to others and everything would work itself out. That’s how he tried to live his life.
In his early years, he built a career as a landscape and waterfall rock formation specialist/artist, working on projects in and around the Houston and Sam Rayborn area. Such projects include Areal Gardens, Evergreen Enterprises, The Mason Jar Restaurant chain, Battle Stein Department Store in Memorial City Mall, The Waterfall at Record Hole music store in the San Antonio mall and much more.
Jon, Loved the beach as well and being in the outdoors. He loved to camp and be close to the water. The last 15 years of his life were spent in Conroe at the COVE Condominiums. His condo overlooked a man-made pond with flowing waterfalls and an abundant amount of wildlife. He’s spent his days walking his beloved dog Katy, chatting with neighbors, and sitting on his back patio enjoying the sounds of the water and animals that would come out looking for the food he would leave for them. The Cove community and the people who live there were his second family. He loved it there.
Jon is survived by his children, Ean and Tanner; grandchildren, Jordan, Thomas and Grace; life partner, Margret Aylward; and his children's mother, Darlene Issacks.
Jon lived life the way he wanted and will be deeply missed by his friends and family.
Love you POP.
