Wayne, born in Dallas, Texas; moved to Houston, attended Our Savior Lutheran Elementary School, and graduated from Aldine High School. In 1968, he enlisted in the U. S. Navy and served a tour of duty in Vietnam, including a stint on a gunboat in that war. Following an honorable discharge from the Navy, Wayne earned his bachelor’s degree in Criminology from Sam Houston State University and accepted a position as an adult probation officer with the Harris County Probation Department. The bulk of Wayne’s working career centered around his employment as a sales representative with Ettinger and Rossini in San Antonio. He retired to New Waverly Texas in 2016 after earning a position as partner of that company.
Wayne enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family, friends and colleagues. He was cherished and loved by all of his extended family and a wide network of bereaved friends.
Wayne is preceded in death by mother, Betty Jane Larson, and Father, Charles Julius Larson. Kenneth Wayne Larson is survived by: brother, Joe Alan Larson, and wife, Becky Larson; brother, Bruce Larson, and wife, Brenda Larson; nephew, Jeff Larson, and wife, Kahla Larson; niece, Whitney Nicole Drake, and husband, Lance Drake; niece, Alice Lawrence, and husband, Vince Lawrence; nephew, Rusty Martin, and wife, Jen Bell; nephew, Christian Waldo, and wife, Destiny Waldo; and multiple great-nieces and great-nephews.
A gathering for Kenneth will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, TX 77303.
