Uncle Leroy, I miss you a lot already and I'll never forget you. I remember when I was little, everybody was telling me that You and I shared our birthday. You are the coolest Great Uncle ever! Rest In Peace Uncle Leroy!

'My mother(Dorothy) asked if I could put Uncle LeRoy's Eulogy on here.  Uncle Kenneth wrote the majority of this and Rick added his thoughts and words.

LEROY WILLIAMS

THANK YOU FOR COMING TO THE CELEBRATION OF LEROY WILLIAMS LIFE. 

CHANGE HIS NAME- LA ROY

WAS BORN ON JULY 9, 1936 IN THE OLD JULIE WEAVER HOME PLACE IN BETWEEN TODD MISSION AND PLANTERSVILLE. 

CHANGE HIS NAME- ROY 

WENT HOME TO HIS REWARD ON MARCH 3, 2013 IN TOMBALL TEXAS

CHANGE HIS NAME- LE ROY

WAS THE SON OF BERT AND EVA WILLIAMS

HE IS SURVIVED BY-

HIS OLDER BROTHER KENNETH WILLIAMS
HIS YOUNGER SISTER DOROTHY BURGE
AND HIS MUCH YOUNGER SISTER BONNIE WISCHNESKY

DAUGHTER SHANNON WILLIAMS 
DAUGHTER BRITTANY STEWART

CHANGE HIS NAME- POPS

POPS CAME ABOUT FROM  HIS DAUGHTER SHANNON. HE WOULD CALL HER BY A FAVORITE NAME ALL THE WAY UP UNTIL SHE WAS 18. THAT NAME WAS POO-BEAR. SO SHE DECIDED THAT IF THAT WAS HER NAME THEN HIS WOULD BE POPS. SO THE NAMES STUCK AND LEROY HAS BEEN POPS EVER SINCE.

POPS WAS BORN AS A BLUE BABY WITH SPECIAL HEALTH ISSUES. HIS MOTHER NURSED HIM TO GOOD HEALTH. BUT HE DIDN'T LETH THAT STOP HIM. 
HE HAD A GOOD WORK ETHIC AND EVENTUALYY WOULD GROW TO BE A SHEET METAL TECHNICIAN. HE JOINED THE SHEET METAL WORKERS UNION IN HOUSTON AND BEGAN A LONG CAREER.

AROUND 1977 LEROY HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO FURTHER HIS CAREER. WHILE WORKING AT TEXAS THERMATICS AIR CONDITIONING CO OF HOUSTON. HE WAS OFFERED  TO GO TO SAUDI ARABIA TO WORK ON THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS IN THE KINGS MILITARY BARRACKS. HE SIGNED ON FOR 18 MONTHS. NEEDLESS TO SAY HE HAD MANY STORIES TO TELL OF LIFE IN SAUDI ARABIA.  15 MONTHS INTO THE CONTRACT THE COMPANY WENT BELLY UP. SO POPS HAD TO COME HOME. POPS GATHERED UP HIS STUFF AND PREPARED TO COME HOME. 

UNFORTUNATELY IT WASN'T TO BE.  THE LAW OF THE U.S. AT THE TIME WAS THAT HE HAD TO STAY OUT OF THE COUNTRY FOR AT LEAST 18 MONTHS IN ORDER TO AVOID HAVING TO PAY A LOT OF TAXES ON HIS EARNINGS. SO POPS HAD TO MAKE A DECISION. HE PUT TOGETHER A PLAN TO GO TO MEXICO FOR THREE MONTHS. ON HIS WAY HE LEFT FROM RIYADH SUADI ARABIA TO LONDON ENGLAND. NOT WANTING TO CARRY A LOT OF CASH POPS STASHED $5000.00 IN HIS SUITCASE. LOW AND BEHOLD WHEN HE GOT TO LONDON, THERE WAS NO SUITCASE.

UNDAUNTED HE WENT ON WITH HIS TRIP TO MEXICO. WHILE WAS THERE HE HAD HIS YOUNGER SISTER BONNIE AND HER KIDS KEVIN, KEITH AND KRISTI COME AND STAY WITH HIM.

AFTER POPS RETURN TO TEXAS HE MET A LADY NAMED DONNA OLSEN. THEY WERE MARRIED ON FEBRUARY 5, 1983. THIS UNION BROUGHT ABOUT HIS 2 DAUGHTERS I HAD MENTIONED EARLIER SHANNON AND BRITTANY.  

POPS LOVED CHILDREN, ESPECIALLY HIS GRAND KIDS. WHENEVER THEY WERE AROUND POPS WOULD SON BE HANGING OUT WITH THEM INSTEAD OF THE ADULTS. 
I HAVE A QUOTE FROM HIS NIECE KRISTI. SHE STATES I LOVE UNCLE LEROY DEARLY. HE PLAYED AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN MY LIFE. WHEN I WAS LITTLE HE ALWAYS MADE TIME TO LISTEN TO ME. WHEN YOU ARE LITTLE THAT IS SO IMPORTANT. HE WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART.

ANOTHER QUOTE IS FROM HIS BIG BROTHER KENNETH. LEROY WAS BORN WITH ONE STRIKE AGAINEST HIM. BUT YOU NEVER WOULD HAVE KNOWN IT FROM HIM. HE APPLIED HIMSELF, HAD A CAREER, TRAVELED, RASIED A FANILY AND ENDURED HIS BROTHER IN LAW GARY BURGE'S AWFUL JOKES….

TALK ABOUT HIS RACING……IF NOT TO LONG

MY DEALINGS WITH UNCLE LEROY. I WILL TELL YOU THAT THIS MAN HAD ONE OF THE MOST KIND AND CARING SPIRITS INSIDE OF HIM. I WILL MISS HIM A LOT.

The world has lost a very loving Godly man.  Whether we are a realtive, a personal friend, or just an aquaintance, how lucky we were to know him.  That famous smile will always stay with me, it was always there, wasn't it?   God bless you all.

Our prayers and thoughts are with all of LeRoys family, We were pleased to have caught up with LeRoy in 2005 , and all the stories that were told. What an enjoyable person. His humor was tops,  He left a great impression, as did all the family.

It's funny the things you will miss about someone, Uncle Leroy I already miss you!! You always had a smile on your face and such a fun laugh.  I can still hear your voice on how you called us by name!!  We were so lucky to be part of your life as we grew up.  The stories of you will continue on!!  I love you and miss you!!

Im so very sorry for the families loss - he lived across the street from me and my girls and was always a smiling face.  Prayers with you all.

LeRoy, A very kind and caring person. LeRoy will be greatly missed by his loved ones. May God Bless and give stength and comfort to all of his loved  ones. Not now but in the coming years we'll understand.

I miss seeing my uncle everyday. its so hard cause we live so close to each other.inviting him over for dinner, for birthdays and get togethers.he lived so simple and liked everyone..i miss him soo much.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.

I did not ever meet you, but you should know that you have some very wonderful children.  They are truly special and they miss you so very much.  Rest in Peace Leroy.  God has you in his loving arms.
