

Curtis Clark was born October 24, 1940 in Woodsboro, Texas to Plemon Bush and Eula Mae Clark and later moved with his family to Conroe, Texas. He graduated with honors from Conroe High School in 1959 and joined the Air Force as an aircraft mechanic, serving in California, Texas and Okinawa, Japan. While stationed in Lubbock, Curtis met and married the love of his life, Gene Christi Clark, on November 30, 1962. Adding to this joy, he adopted Christi's four daughters as his own and their fifth daughter was born in 1968. He was preceded in death by his wife Christi, his mother and father, and his two brothers Richard and Milton. Curtis is survived by his daughters, Joyce (Burton) Kelkenberg, Donna Casty, Paula Clark, Christy (Richard) Fogle and Cindy (Wes) Cheek. Also survived by his grandchildren, Jennifer (Fred) Carter, Renee (Lynn) Jeffries, Heather Highfill, Curtis (Sandra) Highfill, Timothy Highfill, Sharon (Sam) Lochabay, Kristin Casty, KC (Elizabeth) Cheek and B Cheek and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. His sharp wit, humor and love will be greatly missed by all.
The Clark Family lived in Humble and Houston, before returning to Conroe in 1976. During these years, Curtis worked in the oil industry as a machinist. In 1986, he and Christi moved to California, where Curtis worked as a machinist in Aircraft Maintenance for Continental and Fedex, eventually transferring to Memphis, Tennessee. Curtis and Christi settled at their home in Coldwater, Mississippi, retiring from Fedex in 2005.
While always providing for his family, Curtis also loved to share the Gospel, serving in the church as a Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, and teacher, also sharing his musical talents with his wife and youngest daughter in performances at church services and revivals. He loved to draw, often creating beautiful "Bear Family" cartoons for his daughters to find on the breakfast table. Vacations were often spent sharing his love for the outdoors, camping, fishing and exploring mountains and historical places with his wife, daughters and grandchildren.
A funeral service for Lloyd will be held Friday, February 7, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, TX 77303. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at Conroe Memorial Park, 1600 Porter Rd, Conroe, TX 77301.
