

A memorial service for Loren Allen King, age 78, of Conroe will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 10 a.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Pastor Cary Smith officiating. Loren was born on July 23, 1932 in Stearns, Kentucky and passed away on October 16, 2010 in Conroe, Texas. He had a lifetime career in the lumber industry, including building, maintaining saw mills and sales. He was also a licensed auctioneer. Loren was a talented painter and had a love of art; he enjoyed researching his ancestry and his Kentucky roots. He was a collector of coins and antiques.
Loren was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Webster King and Ella Amanda Trammell-King. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Lynne King of Conroe; children, David King of Conroe, Nila Coats and husband Bobby of Splendora, Matt King and wife Tracy of Conroe, Julie Spencer and husband Oliver of Cramerton, North Carolina and Vivian Yingling and husband Dave of Montgomery; grandchildren, Bobby Coats, Jr. and wife Stephanie, Barry Coats and wife Angela, Melissa King, Daniel King, Ashton Bode, Meg Spencer, Audrey Spencer and Audrey Yingling; great grandchildren, Karen Coats, Hannah Coats, Morgan McMasters, Zachary Coats and Braxton Cundiff; siblings, Donald King and wife Mary, Maurice King and wife Pat, Doris Gates and husband Ron and Marvin King and wife Paddy and special long-time friend, Chester Toliver. Numerous nieces, nephews, and friends and extended family also survive. We can just imagine him running through the hills and valleys of Kentucky, a boy again. We love and miss you.
