Marlene Skaggs Hodgson, 65, of Conroe, Texas, went to be with her Lord, Tuesday, June 12, 2018. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Sheldon; two sons, Clayton of Huntsville, Texas, and Steve (wife Halie) of Dallas, and four adored grandchildren: Clayton, Jr., Cambry, Chase and Cole. She is also survived by her brother, Lynn Skaggs, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Marjorie Skaggs of Dallas. Marlene is very loved and very missed by all her friends and family.
Marlene grew up in Dallas and went to Thomas Jefferson High School. She graduated early and entered TCU at which time she met Sheldon who was living and working in Ft. Worth. They married in 1972 for 46 years. Marlene made a home for her family as they moved following her husband’s career, in Ft. Worth, Waxahachie, Dallas, St. Louis (twice), New Jersey, Midland and Houston. She worked as a beauty consultant for Estee Lauder for 20 years and was much sought after wherever she worked. In 2000 she retired with her husband to a waterfront townhome at Harbour Town on Lake Conroe where she was active in organizing community events and parties for her friends and neighbors.
Marlene’s greatest joy in life was her grandchildren, who called her YaYa. She enjoyed nothing more than planning special surprises and fun – filled weekends for them. She also loved cruising in the Caribbean.
