Martha Lilly, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, joined her husband Murray Lilly in heaven April 22, 2025. She was 94. Martha was a caring friend and faithful servant of Christ. She was born on September 15, 1930 in Anderson County, 1 of 9 children, to A.G. Godley and Leta Wilbanks. Martha graduated from high school and attended Stephen F. Austin University. In 1949, she married Murray Lilly. Murray’s work took the family to several East Texas towns. In 1966, they finally settled in Conroe, Texas. Martha loved sewing, quilting, gardening, crafting, playing bridge, playing games with her family and going to the beach. She attended the First Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Beacon Sunday school class, women’s society and former board member. She also was a lifetime member of the Beta Sigma Phi, Conroe Service league (President), Heritage Museum (President), Quilting Club and a member of the Cattle Barron Ball of Conroe. Martha was known as Nana to her grandchildren and great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Murray Lilly, Martha is survived by her daughter Debbie Dillon and her husband Jackie, son, Danny Lilly and his wife Debbie, grandchildren; Leslie McGuire her husband Patrick, Lauren Le and her husband John, Adam Lilly and his partner Branden, Andrew Lilly and his wife Hillary great grandchildren; Madison McGuire, Olivia McGuire, Nolan Le, Emma Le, Ingrid Lilly and Vivian Lilly and her sister Oleta Brumley and husband Richard. Thanks to Becky Lindley (caregiver) for her 3 years of selfless love and kindness.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 28, 2025, 12PM – 1pm at the Metcalf Funeral Directors Chapel. Funeral will follow at 1PM. Martha will be laide to rest at Garden Park Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to the Heritage Museum of Montgomery County (Conroe).
