Mary Helena Mathis

Mary Helena Mathis passed away peacefully at her home in Bedias, Texas on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at the age of 89. She was born on September 23, 1932 to James Franklin and Allie Mae Trout in San Benito, Texas. Mary was married to her loving husband, Burtis Mathis for 64 years.

Mary worked many years as an LPN Nurse at St. Lukes Hospital in downtown Houston. She loved to bowl and do crafts but mostly she loved being around her grandchildren. Mary was such a loving mother and grandmother that will truly be missed.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. She is survived by her children Cathy Lewis, Billy Tullos, Charlotte Randall, and Sharon Harrold; grandchildren Michelle Barron, Christi Ben, Hollis Little, Lisa Martinez, Benjamin Randall, Laura Everson, Shana Creel and Ryan Harrold. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Cody and Allie Barron, Chasyti, Kahlani and Christopher Ben, Mikayla, Grace and Chloe Little, Kevin and Taylor Jolly, Preston, Oliver and Milo Randall, Emily and Alexa Everson, Steven Vazquez, Elizabeth, Nicholas and Conner Harrold; great-great-grandchildren Harlie Barron, Briar Jolly and one sister Joyce Collins.

Funeral services for Mary will be on Monday, September 19, 2022 at 10:30am at Metcalf Funeral Directors in Conroe with visitation one hour prior. She will be laid to rest on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 12:30pm at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
