Michael Scott Case, Sr., a loving father, devoted grandfather “Oompa”, beloved brother, uncle and friend, left this world suddenly and unexpectedly on June 29, 2022 after a double bypass and carotid artery surgery. After spending a week in the hospital, Mike had moved to a rehabilitation center before planning on going home. Words cannot describe the void left in all of our hearts.
Mike graduated from Conroe High School in 1966. During the time he attended high school, he worked part time as a draftsman. He worked for long time civil engineer, Joe Waddill, of Conroe. He studied during this time to become a professional land surveyor and worked for several different organizations. He had a successful career of 30+ years with Smith & Company. He carried a remarkable work ethic, which was a major part of his life. He took pride in his career, and after many years of convincing from his family, he made the decision to retire last year on his birthday November 30th.
Mike had many passions in his life, one being his love of riding motorcycles. Riding led to racing with the CMRA (Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association). Racing with his son was one of the highlights of his life. Mike loved his family first and foremost. His entire heart belonged to the time he spent with his children, grandchildren, and siblings. Mike had an admiration for Port Aransas, which led to him creating family traditions of summer getaways every year. He also enjoyed spending time with his siblings going out to dinner, trying every restaurant at least twice. No matter the occasion, Mike would go above and beyond for those around him to make every moment exceptional and unforgettable. He had a heart of gold, and was beyond selfless and giving to anyone who shared the honor of knowing him. Mike has left an impact on countless lives, and will forever be remembered for the gratified life he lived.
He is survived by his son, Michael, daughter Crysti Case Monroe and husband Jody, grandson Joseph Michael Monroe, granddaughter Nicole Madison Monroe, who were the light of his world, brothers Pat Case and wife Patricia, Donnie Case and wife Connie, sister Debbie Gunselman and husband Kevin, nephews Phillip Ready (Mandy), Roy Ready (Teri), Adam Case, Tyler Case (Brittany), nieces Stacy Case and Katie Case Gorrell (Jeremy).
