Olin Eugene Crowley, 77, passed away on August 9, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was born in Houston, Texas on December 10, 1941 at Heights Hospital. Olin was the fourth son born to Willie and Frieda Crowley. His childhood was spent in Houston and later Waller. He graduated from Waller High School and furthered his education at Sam Houston State University where he met the love of his life, Connie. Olin and Connie were married for 58 years!
He is survived by daughters and son in laws: Carolynne and Frank Campagna Jr., Carrie and Vernon (Bubba) Wall, and son: Christopher Crowley. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Kimberly Sommers and Rodney Guy, Kameron and Vanilly Wall, Brett Campagna and Jenn Montalvo, Chad and Megan Campagna, and Axel Crowley. Survivors also include his great grandchildren: Annabelle Campagna, Addison Campagna and Kinzley Guy.
Olin graduated from SHSU with a BBA degree in accounting. When he graduated from college, he went to work for Texaco. After 39 years with Texaco, he retired in January 2003.
While in Tulsa, Olin was very active in Boy Scouts with his son, Chris. He also worked with United Way representing Texaco.
During retirement, he rediscovered his love of dancing by joining Woodlands Stars and Conroe Country Cousins to learn square dancing. He also served as President and Vice-President of Sam Houston Square and Round Dance Association and with Conroe Country Cousins.
Olin loved to serve the Lord at his church. During his lifetime he was Council President and started the Planning Committee. More recently, his favorite pastime at church was Pastor Chris Lake’s Bible Study.
Olin’s hobbies included coin collecting and watching old Western movies with his favorite actor, John Wayne. He also spent many hours playing or just being around Axel, Annabelle, and Addison who were the joys of his life.
His visitation will be at Cashner Funeral Home, on August 14, from 5:00-7:00. Olin’s service will be held at Tree of Life Lutheran Church on August 15, at 10:30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tree of Life Lutheran Church at 3201 N. Loop 336 W. Conroe, Texas 77304.
