Pansy was married to Bill Hammons for 63 years. They had 3 children, Gary Lee Hammons, Joe Glen Hammons, and Lana Sue Beathard. Bill Hammons worked for Eastern Air Lines at Hobby Airport and in 1969 moved the family to Montgomery County to work at the new Bush Intercontinental Airport. It was quite an adjustment for Pansy going from city life to country living but once she adjusted she loved it! She always had farm animals, a vegetable garden, and enjoyed looking at her beautiful flowers as she sat on her porch. Her family was the love of her life and it broke her heart when she lost her son, Gary, in 2010. She never quite recovered from it. Mom loved family gatherings. Christmas was always a special time for her and she would go over the top with food, gifts, and of course it wasn’t Christmas without a visit from Santa Claus. Even when we were adults, Santa would still come to visit with a gift for all of us. She loved her family! All she wanted for her 83rd birthday was to see Mickey Gilley in concert. Her wish came true and she stood in line just to get a picture with Mickey Gilley. She talked about it for the rest of her life!
