REX CLAUD BOLACK, beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, at the age of 87 years went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 19, 2023. Rex was born on a ranch in Winfield, Kansas on October 20, 1936. He attended Winfield High School ‘54 where he was president of his Future Farmers of America (FFA) with his own cattle herd. He attended Missouri State University College, after enlisting in the United States Air Force where he went on to serve for 12 years. One of his Air Force missions sent him to Udon, Thailand where he continued his communications work while also taking on the management of the base exchange, in charge of their purchasing in Bangkok. Following his military career, he continued his love of the management profession and joined the Kmart Corporation. He went on to manage top preforming stores while also serving as district manager in both the Southern and Midwestern Regions.
Rex and his wife Beth met in 1957 while Rex was stationed at Ellington Air Force Base and were married in 1958. They recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. Rex and Beth built a life together and spent the last 30 years together in Conroe, Texas. Together they had three children; Renee, Brian and Brent. He was preceded in death by his son, Rex Brent Bolack. He is survived by his loving wife Mary Elizabeth Bolack (Beth); his daughter Elizabeth Renee Tebo-Hughes; his son Brian Todd Bolack; his sister Martha Ledford; his grandchildren Ryan, Cameron, Bryce, Madison; and his great grandchildren Teddy (3), Jack (1), and Sage (6 mon).
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 11, 5-7pm at the Metcalf Funeral Directors, 1801 White Oak Terrace, Conroe, TX 77304. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, January 12, 1pm in the Chapel at West Conroe Baptist Church, 1855 Longmire Rd. Conroe, Texas 77304.
